For most of us, January 1st is the beginning of a New Year. But this is only the beginning provided we base the year on the Gregorian calendar. Many cultures celebrate and start New Year at different times of the year.
 

On the 14th of February 2010, New Chinese Year will begin and will last until 2nd of February 2011. It will be the 4708th year!
It starts every year at different times because it is based on the lunar calendar (phases of the moon). It begins on the second new moon after winter solstice.
 

Every year, different animal signs govern the year, and each year the different animal has a different element attached to it. So, because there are 12 animal signs in the Chinese horoscope and there are 5 elements in the cycle of 60 years. This time, it will be the year of the Metal Tiger (also called as the Golden Tiger).
 

 

In order for me cast a forecast, I need to introduce the study of the 4 pillars (see the 4 pillar calculator for reference)
Year of Metal Tiger will generally be difficult and challenging. In the birth chart according to the 4 pillars calculation, there are only 3 out of 5 elements (no water and fire elements). Fire element appears only once as hidden element, but no water.
 

The self element is Yin Wood which is very strong because of many wood elements present. There are 2 element of wealth, which is represented by earth this year so there is a chance to make money but provided the water element is strengthened.
 

Because in this year’s chart, water element is completely missing, you should activate this element in your surroundings. Days when water element is present shall be more auspicious for everyone. Water colours (all shades of blue and black,) are also beneficial, so add this colours to your daily outwear.

 

Every year, every month and even every day the energy changes…Energy does this all the time.  That is why, it is so important to update and make an annual assessment of your property, office and home every year. Annual addressing of placements of articles that address the elements in your environment is more than sufficient, but very necessary.
Begin at home, make sure you put all matters in order, such as having your home feng shuied, that means energy appropriately done to enhance the good stars and suppress the afflictions.
 

 

Those who live in Southwest/Northeast facing homes should be extra careful this year because the energy in both sectors is very negative and can cause a lot of problems. Do be careful and definitely use precautions.
 

Good news for those living in East/West facing homes! You on the other hand will enjoy a much better year that in 2009. Last year both sectors were afflicted bringing a lot of problems. But in 2010 the situation will change…for the better!

Centre - is the best sector of the entire area and this is where the prosperity star is located. This is the so called “wealth spot”.
Best is to have an open plan area in the centre and use it as often as possible! You can also enhance this sector with water features, like: aquariums, fountains etc. Movement enhances the good aspects of this star so noise, movement, water feature is definitely recommended.
For people whose KUA number is 8 and ladies who’s KUA is 5 there are good news because the year will be smooth for you.

 

North-West sector of the home is being visited by the auspicious star number 9, which brings the luck of completion and in the period of 8 brings future prosperity.

If your main door, bedroom or your office is located in the NW you can expect great year where businesses and ventures will succeed and there will be a lot of good luck.
Try to use this sector as much as possible!

If there are businesses that need to be completed this year, this will happen.

 

East – is visited by the star number 6, bringing help from heavens and mentors. It is a very good star, one of the three white numbers (1, 6, and 8).

If you want status or promotion in career, use this sector! It attracts unexpected wealth as well, so if you are staying in a home where the main feature is east( example, bedroom), try your luck at the lottery! You can enhance it by placing metal elements here. Anything white, grey or metallic is excellent to strengthen this auspicious star.

Homes which are facing or sitting direction is East will enjoy great luck in 2010.

 

North – those living in North facing homes as well as people born in the year of the Rat generally had a very difficult 2009. Now a romance star number 4 enters this sector bringing love, romance and academic pursuits. Writers, journalists and students would benefit greatly when staying in that sector.

 

This is also called Peach Blossom Luck location of this year. So, if you want love, marriage, if you are looking for your “other half” you should be staying in that sector of your house.

This star is very strong this year because it is located in the water sector (North) and the star’s element is wood. So you do not need it to strengthen it further, just stay in that area.

For people who belong to east group (according to KUA formula) and would like romance, love or luck in studies and exams, just face this direction.

 

West is visited by beneficial star number 1 bringing a lot of good fortune. This star brings wealth and victory to those who are staying in this sector.
In 2010 homes with facing or sitting direction which is West or East will enjoy great luck! If the main door or bedroom is located here, even better!

 

1 is one of the three white numbers which are regarded very auspicious. It is a water star and in the metal sector (West), it gets strengthened even further!
Use this area as often as you can. You can strengthen it even further by placing a metal element here; for example in the form of white curtains, metal elements, white or grey carpets etc.

 

Northeast – Inauspicious star number 2 is located here this year bringing illness. This year the illness star gains in strength because it is located in the earth element sector which strengthens the sickness star which is also of earth element. That is why it is very important to be extra careful and take special precautions.

 

Best is to avoid this sector because it is bringing persistent health problems and sickness. If you can not avoid this sector, place a lot of metal objects there, for example: copper, brass, bronze. You can also paint this sector white or place a Wu Lou, which is a feng shui object protecting your health.

Avoid too many lights here because fire energy strengthens this sector. Also remove earth elements from this sectors, such as stones, crystals etc.

 

Southeast - star number 7 is visiting this sector this year. It is bringing violence, theft, burglary and loss of wealth. There is also a danger you might be cheated.

 

If your main door or bedroom is located in that sector, protect your home, install additional alarm system, and make sure you have insurance for your home. This star also indicates possible violence, so do not go out at night alone, do not get into arguments with strangers…You also could be cheated, so do not go to a new partnership.

 

Since southeast direction represents the eldest daughter, they are the ones that should be very careful and not to go out at night alone.

Minimize the use of that area. Best solution for exhausting the violent star number 7 is placing a water feature here. Since water exhaust metal, install a water feature. Not only will it exhaust the negative 7 but it will also enhance the southeast direction.
Install a water feature provided it is not your bedroom. In bedrooms, use shades of blue as the design scheme, if you want, you can place water feature in the southeast corner of your living area.

 

South - is visited by the star number 3, bringing arguments, disputes, litigation and even court cases. Best is to avoid this sector.
To lessen the effects of this star, shine bright lights, use red colour objects, for example: carpets, table cloth, red curtains…be creative.
 

If your bedroom is located in this area, be more tolerant to your spouse and if argument occurs, do not blow it out of proportion.
 

This star is not very strong this year because it is located in the fire sector which already weakens it but still you can place metal elements here which will drain the energy of this quarrelsome star even further. Remember to keep this area quiet because noise strengthens the negative effects of this star.

 

Southwest – it is the most afflicted sector this year. Best is to avoid it at all cost!!! Star number 5 is located here bringing 5 types of misfortunes, ranging from health, money, career, success to relationships problems.
In 2010 it is extra strong because it is located in the earth sector which strengthens the star further. So do be careful!

 

The negative effects of this star will be felt especially by those whose main door faces Southwest or their bedroom is located there. Also people born in the years of Monkey and Sheep are most prone to feel the negative effects of this star.

 

Since this star is located in the sector which represents mother (matriarch), ladies are especially prone to feel the negative effects of this star. They should definitely avoid this area. Relationships may suffer as well since southwest is also a relationship corner.

 

This is definitely the most dangerous sector of the 2010. Do not do any renovations in that sector, avoid noise, and keep it quiet! Place metal objects here to weaken the negative effects of this star.
Do not keep any earth elements here, such as: stones, crystals etc. Avoid lights here because fire energy only strengthens the star further!
